Types of soil

There ae three types of soil in our locality.

1. Clay soil

2. Loam soil

3. Sand soil

When soil is mixed with water it becomes wet and form mud.

1. Mud is used for modelling.

2. Clay soil is found from riverbeds.

3. Loam soil is found in gardens.

4. Sand soil is used in building areas.

Clay Soil

1. Has fine or very tiny particles.

2. Clay soil particles stick together when wet.

3. Clay soil makes smooth long ribbons when modelling.

4. Clay soil is good for modelling.

Loam Soil

1. Has moderated (not large or small) particles.

2. Make short ribbons that are not smooth and not rough.

3. Ribbons break easily during modelling.

Sand soil.

1. Has large particles.

2. Sand soil does not form ribbons.

3. Sand soil cannot be used for modelling because it does not stick together
